Adventures in Frying

John got a deep fryer from his family. Helloooo fair food! We decided to make a variety of fried foods, because, well, it's summer, and we can.
What you'll need for Corn Dogs:
Corn meal
Flour
Sugar
Hot Dogs
Milk
Eggs
Baking powder
Vegetable oil
Salt

Follow this recipe (the one we used was ever so slightly different, but this one should be great!)
What you'll need for fries:
Potatoes
Salt & pepper

Slice the potatoes.
Season with salt & pepper.
Fry until golden brown.
Top with salt & pepper as desired.
What you'll need for donuts:
A tube of ready to bake biscuits
Cinnamon sugar
Powdered sugar
Any other desired toppings

Rip each biscuit into two bite-sized circles.
Fry until golden brown on both sides (make sure to flip them as needed).
Top with desired toppings.

We also made fried Snickers which kind of blew my mind (in the most amazing way) and fried oreos. To make the batter for those, we used a funnel cake recipe, similar to this one. Unfortunately I can't find the exact one we used, but to be honest any funnel cake batter would do.

This was so fun! Super unhealthy, I am not denying that, but sometimes things like this are just good for the soul. It was fun to make, fun to eat, and we just had an all around great time :)
xx
